In knitted fabric to manufacture any fabric whose gsm is more than 250 , comes under category of heavy weight fabric. And if the fabric contains Lycra fibre, then it becomes more difficult fabric to manufacture .

Main challenge in the knitted fabric manufacturing is to manufacture fabric crease free.  In heavy weight fabric , as fabric is dyed in soft flow machine in the rope form it is pro to form creases in the fabric . It is more challenging in current generation machine where MLR is less than 5 .

A most common practice is to unload the fabric after pretreatment in soft flow , open the fabric and dry with pulling in width wise on the stenter before dyeing. It is just to reduce the continuous running time in the soft flow.

The other option may be to use wider width nozzles. But as we all know that to change nozzle for one batch is not a practical solution.

Hence a dyer prefer to unload the dry on stenter before dyeing process.

Here we are giving a detailed method to dye a heavy weight French terry Lycra , whose end product is PANT.
